I have a turbo, but when i put the belt on, I remove the top bolt for the alternator then tilt it in. I use the ratchet in tensioner and get the belt on. Still while holding the tensioner, i pull thd slternator back out and put the top nolt back in. I have lips on my pulleys, so just moving thd tensioner will not let me get the belt on.
Great idea.........

1/2" ratchet into the tensioner was the only way I knew how to do it.
Mine uses a 3/8". Yeah, I have to use the ratchet in the tensioner as well as tilt the alternator in (at the same time). Then keep the tensioner pulled back while the bolt is put back in the alternator.
