hello everyone, I've been a lurker for a while but this is my first post. I was hoping someone could help me figure out this new to me m1165a1 that I picked up yesterday. it runs good after i cleaned the cat but when I went to drive it today it won't shift, I also noticed the trans light does not come on when starting the truck I went to push the red button under the passenger seat only to find it is not there I have a few loose wires and the batteries everything else is gone so I need to figure out what's missing and how to wire it back up. I'm not against using non factory parts for relays or breakers of possible. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

There is a transmission guide that you can look up however first I will point out that your transmission light is not coming on implying that someone either cut or disconnected the 12 V power line leading to the transmission control module under the driver side rear seat.

Before you start going crazy tracking down electrical gremlins, I would look up how to send power to the transmission control module with a bypass wire to see if that temporarily corrects the situation. Then you can look for wires that were cut or disconnected.

I definitely believe there is a cut wire and or missing parts there is nothing on my truck in the passenger side seat area I just don't know where to look for the wires to put power to or which wires they would be I will post some more pictures in a minute.

Looking at the batteries, there are supposed to be additional wires hooked up to the positive post of the rearward battery (usually toward the rear of the battery box as installed, but it means the positive post of the cable between the two batteries inside the box) that are the power source for the transmission computer and also the 14V feed from the alternator. I don't see them in your picture of the batteries so definitely something not right.

Behind the battery box is supposed to be a relay and circuit breaker for the TCM and I don't see those there either?

I hope someone did not just chop all of that out of there....
That's kinda what it looks like.

This will give you the information you need , there are several #290/291 wires behind the front seat so make sure you are dealing with the correct one.
Page 138 lays out the power wiring, breaker, relays etc.
thank you, I can't see any markings on the cut wires I need to figure out which harness it is I don't want to fry something messing with the wrong circuit

Buy the plug look for a little metal crimped on tags that are about 3 mm thick. Each one has a number and that number defines the wire.

can anyone by chance get some pictures of the harness under the seat and where it goes so I can get an idea of what I'm looking at?

If you remove the plug, you will be able to use a magnifying glass with a flashlight in order to find each PIN number on the plug.

Then you can connect it to the appropriate wires by using the transmission manual and the electrical manual which will show you where each wire number attaches to which pin on said plug.
