Not always the easiest option, but i rebuilt mine. Measured and bought parts. Cleaned and re-used parts in an untrasonic cleaner. I was fortunate it did not need to be re-wound.
If the starter is salvageable and you can isolate and replace bad components, it is cheaper and you can have a lot of options to work with.
