m37 headlight brightness problem

A local guy came by my place yesterday with one bright and one dim front head light. I checked the ground on the dim light and it appeared to be ok. Upon presssing the floor mounted high/low switch the dim light got bright and the low light got bright. The problem moves from left to right when pressing the floor switch. Any ideas? Its a 50's vintage model

Check the connections, sounds like the wires to the hi and low are reversed on on one of the lights...

would reversed wires cause the problem to swithc from side to side?

Sure would. Each bulb has a low and high beam element. Maybe 55 and 65 watts ea. Sounds like a low beam on one side and a high beam on the other

I agree with Kenneth about the wiornig at the bulb. I have had that problem.
