I really want to get military Humvee and make it the daily driver and to do that I need to increase the mpg from 8 to 15 if possible. I have couple of ideas on how to do that and want to know if any one has ever done any these things and if there were any complications.
transfer case with 2 wheel drive for when its on asphalt

swapping out the automatic trans for a manual trans
installing manual locking hubs to decrease friction when not using four wheel drive
and converting the 24 volt system for a twelve volt so you don't have to run the huge genorator
