Hi, I'm Looking into possibility of the re-configure of the 400Hz units to either 60Hz 3 phase military or swap the gen end for a late model domestic type 4 wire end. I don't care about the few controls those are easy to refit. I assume the 400Hz is 2000 rpm and the existing governor can be reset for 1800 rpm.

1) Is the flywheel and bellhousing pattern on the 002 and 003's to an SAE standard such that other late model gen ends will bolt up?

2) Is the bellhousing and flywheel pattern for the gen end the same for the 002 and 003?

3) What is a typical asking price for a good condition used or NOS 60hz generator end for the 002 and 003?

I'm often tempted to buy one of those mint 400Hz units to either retrofit or part out.8)

You will be swapping EVERYTHING except the motor. The gen-head, control panel, & output box.

I have been working on this a while and now its up and running. Took an old frame, a rebuilt 003 engine I won, and then added some new modern parts. This is a 16kw stamford type generator with a solid state AVR. Only single phase but puts out 240volts @ 65 amps and the engine doesn't bog down a bit. I still have a couple of quirks to iron out but some parts are enroute and should have it complete next week. The flywheel is a delco type I'm told and the new gens have an SAE drive plate so we had to machine a drive plate to fit the older configuration on the 002/003 flywheel. The bell housing is the same 002/003. SAE #4
