MEP-802A diesel generator for sale. 1995 Libby model with 5012 hours. This unit was never reset. I purchased this generator surplus from a county government in AL. It was listed as unknown condition and I bought it to have a fun project. After filter/fluid changes the unit started and ran well. Upon load testing it died above 50% load. Long story short, this was traced to an incorrect 'G Setting' on the governor control. Once the setting was corrected and the generator was reassembled I load tested the unit for 12 hours at 100% load. It ran great.
The unit has been fully serviced with new oil/filter, both fuel filters replaced, new air filter, injectors cleaned, new return fuel lines, new coolant, and new batteries. All systems work as they should including the auxiliary fuel pump, gauges, and warning systems. Battery cables were replaced with new tinned cable, as the originals were chaffed in several spots. This unit has the fuse/MOV modification. A standard L14-30 generator twist lock socket is installed, but it can be easily swapped out or removed entirely (power can be taken directly from the split bolts). I will include the original cable exit/boot if you want.
I will help load the generator (about 800 lbs. 51 L x 32 W x 37 H) with a forklift. Recommend a utility/equipment trailer, but a full-size pickup bed can work. Pickup is at a business with on-site security, well-lit and tons of cameras in Lexington KY. I can palletize and load the unit if you want to arrange for a pickup. All the major carriers stop here on a routine basis.
