Has anyone tried to register a trailer bought from GL in Michigan without paying for the SF-97? I'm wondering if some combination of the Paid In Full invoice and a VIN inspection from the local Sheriff's Dept would do the trick for me.

I have done many trailers.. You just need a weight certificate and the make and serial number."use the data plate" If its over a certain weight they charge you more and you have to get a title for it. I have never needed a SF-97 for a trailer and have plates on over 30 military trailers.
