Hello fellow 802/803 lovers, I just had a special built remote start board by Kurt Klopp. The change made was adding CT's to the C1 and C3 connection wires so that actual currents could be read instead of the % load. This enables me to balance the load by monitoring via WiFi. No need to run outside with a current clamp making sure I am not overloading a 120 volt coil. Also I will be installing a new ASCO 185 ATS. Additional 8 minutes time delay was added to the start up on power fail to prevent starting on those pesky short minute black outs. Working with Kurt was a pleasure. I am picking up my new controller on Monday and very excited to get it installed and running. If you plan to install a controller I suggest you purchase a 24 volt Battery tender charger. Unlike the trickle charger the tender brings the charge down to zero when the batteries make full charge. It's well worth spending the extra money. Update Dec 30, the controller has been installed but a problem occured with it . but not the fault of the controller. What happened was the preheat would stay on after the engine was started. As it turns out I found 30 volts of AC intruding on the DC controls. It made the controller keep the K18 relay latched on. So for the past week or so I have been tracing down the problem with the help of Kurt. I have narrowed it down to AC cross connecting the DC some where from the regulator 120 ac sense off of pin #4. I am waiting for a clear day to pop the top off the generator. I never would have known there was an original problem with my 803. It worked and regulated normal under any load. Thank God I bought this controller.
