Need assistance on a Mississippi Trailer Registration Question?
I purchased a trailer from GL in Gulfport that I will register at a Ms address in Hancock County. GL charged me 5% Ms sales tax which is listed on the invoice. Does the county tax office give me credit on that amount when I get a trailer plate? Has anyone had success in not having to pay "double" taxes?
I was told that for a trailer under 3000lbs; I do not need a title, just a bill of sale-no notary required. Could you also confirm that for me?
I am not familiar with MS regs. PM fine if you don't want to post.
