Can a single output PTO be used forward (winch) or rear (hydraulic pump for dump)?
Are all 6 bolt PTO's interchangeable or does the Spicer 3053A take a special PTO?
Thanks
Robert

Welcome Robert!

Where are you located?

1) The deuce tranny PTO (for 3052 and 3053A) is a special two speed + reverse unit. It only can be mounted with its front output to the front. You will need the double output unit to connect a hydraulic pump at the rear.
2) It may be possible to adapt a common 6 bolt pump PTO if you find one with the correct gear and if you only want the dump function and not the winch.

Gerhart, are there hydraulic pumps that feature a thru shaft, so that it could be mounted in line with the drive shaft to the winch? Then the winch OR the pump could be used as needed from the same PTO.....not trying to steal the thread or anything, just offering a possible alternate solution....

PTO Hydraulic . com is a good place to look for ideas on pumps. Do yourself a favor and don't bother to hunt for a civvy PTO to fit on the deuce tranny. I did this and searched everywhere only to find one that was *close* and had just slightly different helix on the gear teeth. For the time and hassles it's best to just bit the bullet and get the factory PTO. You'll also get into issues finding a place to mount that thru-shaft pump with the bell and engine and etc,... there. Don't forget also that it's possible to use PTO's off the back of the T-case too.
