Getting my duece ready for the big event MVPA convention. Had a question. Every since I feel in love and got the guts to buy my mv, when I go to start it, it takes some time to "prime" the fuel system. If it has been setting for about a day or more it really takes some time. Is this normal? Am I losing fuel pressure? Or is just how these things work. This is also my first diesel that I've every owned so I'm wet behind the ears on this deal !! Help please. :?:

Another place to check is the return fuel lines between the injectors. Those pesky little plastic lines are prone to leaking, and will allow the fuel to drain back to the IP. The truck won't start until fuel is pushed back up through the lines to the injectors. Been there, done that......

When my truck was doing that it was the plastic return lines by the fuel filters. Park it some place clean and let the in tank pump run for a while. That should turn the air leak into a fuel leak you can find.

Another factor with this is an extremely low fuel rate. Would take some time for my 108 to start but once I turned up the fuel a pinch, it starts right up.

Anybody know where to get the plastic injector bypass line?

I ordered mine from McMaster-Carr. Sorry, don't have the part number handy, but seems like it was called Nylon 11 or something like that. Use the search function, and you'll be overwhelmed. Be sure to use the inserts that go inside the ferrules because tightening the fittings will collapse the plastic lines.

well I used the search function, wasn't really overwhelmed, only conclusion I could find was to use dot air line.
