Not specifically HMMWV related, but there are enough questions on here about towing the HMMWV that it should be relevant enough.
So for years we've argued on here about using a U-haul car hauler trailer to tow a HMMWV.
They didn't have one that they rated for the task, but that didn't stop people from figuring out ways around it.
I was just made aware of a new trailer available from U-haul that they call the "toy Hauler.
Trailer is rated for 6,845 lbs, which will handle most HMMWVs in basic configurations.
Deck length 16 feet, width between rails is 8'2", so plenty wide, with drive over fenders and 8 foot ramps.
Gross weight is 9999 lbs, with trailer weight of 3,155, so have to be rated to tow 10k lbs to rent it.
From their web page, specifically mentioning off road vehicles and full size trucks.
U-Haul's new Toy Hauler is a versatile flatbed trailer ideal for local or long-distance moves. With a maximum load capacity of 6,845 lbs., it’s perfect to tow off road vehicles, large passenger SUVs and even full-size trucks. The Toy Hauler features a spacious 16-foot deck, drive-over fenders, and three 8-foot ramps, making it perfect for transporting a variety of vehicles, including race cars, motorcycles, and side-by-sides. Equipped with multiple tie-down points and rails, it ensures your cargo is secure during transit. Whether you're heading to the track or moving heavy equipment, the Toy Hauler provides a reliable and convenient solution.
