Hey guys, I'm working on a low budget off-road racer (Ultra4 4600 Class Jeep) and want to run an AWD transfer case. I'm worried the jeeps old Quadratrac won't take the abuse and was considering trying to get an NP242, but just stumbled on multiple AMG NP218's for sale.
Anyone have any good insight into the durability of these? Ever heard of one breaking? Is the center diff open or a viscous coupling? Thanks for the help. Just hoping AMG didn't stop using them because they're prone to failure. I know they have a 2.61 low range, 32 spline outputs and I believe a 1.25in wide chain (?).
