Other injection pump on the Multifuel engine?

Has anyone replaced the stock American Bosch injection pump with an off-the-shelf alternative? I know for myself to not mess with the injection system too much; I see it as a finely balanced system between the injectors and the pump. I am just wondering whether another mechanical diesel injection pump, not necessarily multifuel capable, would fit the bill to get equal or a bit better power from the Multi, without breaking the bank. There are so many other commercial diesels out there and it would be cool if a (non-original) alternative would exist. I see it a little bit similar to the use of the modern gear reduction starter as an alternative to a rebuilt OEM one.

Waiting to be schooled!

The farm tractor version of the ldt came with a roosamaster pump. I don't believe that would be an upgrade. Though roosamasters are cheap compared to the ambac psb6a.
