Just started a 1986 M1009 project. I am trying to get her ready for the woods. Just to use going to camp, while working there, and back home. I am not a mechanic but can turn a wrench. I also know when to ask for help that’s why I am here 😁. I know I will need it.

Follow this thread if you would like to lend a hand. Any input is welcome and appreciated, I just thought it would be fun to post some pics and share some stories along the way.

I have done the basics
Cleaned her up
Old fuel out new fuel in
New filters
New batteries
New tires
New belts
And got her running

Now for the first minor problem fuel leak under the manifold.

More Pics, Problems, and Progress on the way.

Now I see the first problem for me.
She has a fuel leak under the manifold. It’s the rubber line from the fuel filter to the injection pump. Not a big deal just hard to get to.

Is there a way to replace that line without pulling the manifold? Should I order that hose specific or just use a standard fuel line?

I have not had a lot of luck ordering the right parts for this truck with the factory part numbers so far?

If you are patient you can change that fuel line with the manifold in place. But I would pull it and replace the entire fuel line. It was special but special isn't available anymore so make the best of what you can. Good Luck.
