Would 2 1/2in dual exhaust, a new air cleaner and air filter, and diesel tuning help the cucv 6.2 with more power, more speed and more torque?
Not sure what fuel tuning you'd be doing but I doubt you'd notice any more power doing that. The only reason you would is if the air filter is completely blocked and the exhaust is rusted shut. These engines can't make more power without adding a turbo kit.

I meant the motor tuning to remove the governor and would a 6.5l replacement turbo and parts work on a 6.2l diesel? What about an hmmwv turbo?

Removing the governor would over fuel the engine and it would explode. The gm stock turbo setup fits fine but you lose an alternator and battery if I remember right. The hmmv turbo is a rear center mount so you'd have to cut the cab up to fit.

Would the exhaust and air filter upgrade make the 6.2 gain at least a little bit more speed? I'm trying to make sure the motor will do 60mph....

If you live in flat Florida, all you need is a 4L80E transmission upgrade to get higher speed and keep the 6.2 alive.

you don't want to do this to certain engine blocks but mm anyway a trucking humour (real stories tho!) book I have he mentioned that when one 220hp tractor ended up running convoy with a few other 250hp tractors (one of latter being the author himself) it turned out he had monkeyed with the fuel pump and claimed he could keep up with the convoy .. when they got to a particular uphill-heading tunnel the older tractor was shooting so much flame through the exhaust that the muffler literally melt-fall off causing direct flame show shooting straight out of the lower pipes in the progress - causing many car drivers to wonder if the tunnel was on fire!

(of course old stubborn engines being stubborn..when the overpumped 220hp tractor took a quick break at a layover shorting past the tunnel, the engine was crackling a bit exhaustnoise-wise but still running! author never did mentioned whatever happened to the burnt muffler left behind in the tunnel..)

@Mullaney yeah even I like the author won't have believed that his tractor was 'still running like nothing happened' but mm
(even then this story shows a clear example of overbuilt engines, in non-military fact the early chrysler caravan had a rather stout engine block to the point you could stuff several pounds of turbo straight into it without having to rebuild anything..and to think that in its factory form it was just a simple smaller 4-inline engine)

I am glad you came back to the forum with your questions.

there are several ways to get the road speed you want. You can get bigger tires (may need to massage the fenders for clearance issues). You can go a turbo route. You can change the transmission to the 4l80e. You can change the ring and pinion gears in the differentials to change the gear ratio (may need to get different carriers to facilitate the change).

The 4.56 gears do not like to go high speeds.
