John Parker, AKA EMD567, AKA PortaJohn AKA is that a Haspin Alligator, has tragically lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday the 24 of September. A memorial service will be held in Aiken, SC, on October 4th at 2pm at the Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home 715 East Pine Log Rd, Aiken, SC
I first met John 30 years ago when I started volunteering at the South Carolina Railroad Museum at 15 years old, fascinated with old machinery and trains. John was quick to take me under his wing and we became best friends, the older brother I never had. I spread the 'disease' of OD Iron to him, and he had many trucks of his own, an M814, M37, WC-21, and lastly a CMU-3. I miss him greatly but I know he is at peace and no longer suffering.
Please keep him and his family in your prayers. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
