Repainting vs Powder coating

I'm in the process of reconditioning some radios and I've been looking for a good alternative to the Gillespie (Rapco) 24087 and the Aervoe 997A paints. The GC paint is a little too dull and brown and the 997A doesn't hold up well in the field even thought it's the right gloss and color. I've been considering going to a professional paint shop and having a gallon color matched but the other option is to have the cases powder coated, something I have no experience with.

Does anyone make good alternatives in powder to OD and 383 CARC and how does powder coating compare costwise? I don't mind paying a bit more if the finish is that more durable.

Please post your experiences.

Thanks,

powder coating ( if done right ) is very durable . You may need to be cautious to make sure that the temperature from baking on the powder coating does not effect the product being powder coated .

The only real concern I have with powder coating is what might happen to some of the gasketting and foam inside the cases, most of which can be taken out if necessary.
