Replacing Filament Bulbs with LEDs... anyone done it yet?

Potting or a good conformal coating would make it more permanent and shake proof.
Often you can mount circuitry as shown, since the individual components are waterproof and the case not sealed perfectly. Venting a case works well to keep moisture from buliding up.
I would not try to seal the case with some kind of caulk, moisture will definely find a way in and accumulate inside.
Just rambling here....in the end I like a vented case, parts can be serviced easily if needed.
