replacing u-joint

doing a set in a m1008 and a set in a 96 dodge b3500 van, pretty rusty cant even get the clips to move. ideas? thanks

Take a socket that fits into the inside diameter of the yoke ear and give it some love with a hammer.

yup, some PB Blaster and a shock from a hammer is about the only thing you can do, sometimes heating with a torch helps but you need to be very careful about warping the ears.

snap rings are so rusted cant even get them to move yet

I have had luck with heat and cold. I use one of those compressed air cans(like for dusting a computer processor heatsink) held upside down to freeze the caps.

Did you smack the clips with the hammer and socket? This does two things, it pushes the cap back from the clip releasing tension against it and loosens the clip in the groove.
