Second HUMVEE, m1097a2, wanted to share a run flat removal technique I have not seen posted, hope it helps someone. Tire date codes on this HUMVEE are 09,09,09, and 12. Needless to say they were stuck, bonded like to the wheels, hard as hell to break the "seal". Read a ton of ideas on this forum, even guys talking bout using gas. Anyway, I poured a kettle of boiling water around the lip, where the wheel meets the tire, used the claw end of a carpentry hammer and the seal broke, one tire / wheel took two kettles to break free. Secondly I've seen some crazy techniques on YouTube on how to remove the run flats, if you don't plan to sell or reuse them there is plenty of space to simply cut them out. One cut, then pull one end onto the other and slide it over the tire wall and out. That's it, happy Thanksgiving.
