I bought this Signal-Stat® Model 900 turn signal control used from Boyce Equipment in Ogden, UT. I was just wondering if the green and red lights on it are supposed to light up when I use the turn signal or if they are just there to look pretty. I wired everything up according to the diagram and my turn signal lights light up just fine. would the brown and black wire that I didn't use have anything to do with it or are the bulbs inside the switch burned out? let me know what you think. thanks!

I figured it out! I opened it up and realized there was a wire leading to the light inside the switch, but no ground wire. I have the switch case strapped onto the steering column with a fan belt insulating it because the steel strap is too large (or the steering column is too small, take your pick). so the circuit was not being completed. I hooked a ground wire to the switch's case and connected that wire to the inside of the dash and voiala! It works like it's supposed to! I love figuring things out on my own! but I welcome anyone's help at any time. thanks for your reply!
