don't ask me why I am thinking of this now as I'm not so sure anyway..

my silly question is: how many humans (well, the 6ft-and-fit kinds that is) could actually had been carried by any one random conventional-form willy jeep?

assuming there's a back seat, 4 men ... would certainly be crowded for the two in the back, leg room would be very much an issue but they could sit a bit sideways ... be much roomier to remove seat and have the rear two sit on the fender wells ..

I had an early CJ5 with seat pads that snapped to the top of the fender wells.. , made things nice for sitting there.. When that jeep went bye-bye i retained those pads for my M38"A5"

Not willys but my squad had squeezed 7 onto a M151-type a time or two out of necessity , utilizing the fender wells and spare tire as seats, and one sat on the hood against the windshield. .. I recall one particular incident where all was fine until we hit a hidden tank rut in a portion of submerged tank trail .. Hang on !
