Sometimes I like being wrong

I have posted a lot of questions about a throttle issue I was having with my deuce Bert. Several people told me it is not a big deal the truck just needs to be driven. The problem I was having is the throttle was really stiff and I was afraid it might lead to bigger problems. Well, this past weekend I took it out for a drive. And not just around my house like I have before. I drove it a good ways and I am glad to say the problem is no more. The throttle works just like it is suppose to now. A lot of people contacted me wanting to buy this truck. But because I did not know what all the throttle needed I scared them off when I told them there was problem. Oh well, I would rather lose a sale then sell something to someone that breaks down right after they buy it. I think honesty is a bit more important. It turns out who ever bought it would have had it working most likely during their drive home. So, tomorrow I hope to re-install the fender and take it for a drive. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the spare injection pump I got in case mine was bad.

There's really not a whole lot to the throttle, anyways.

When we picked up another SS member's truck, the throttle was stuck wide open. It was just varnished diesel that was keeping it from moving.

The fix was easy. Keith_J just sprayed some pro shot copper solvent in it and that did the trick.

I just re-installed the fneder in the cold rain. I had to replace almost all of the fastners because I left them out to get rusted up. A lot of them I just rethreded instead. I only have one thing left to do but I want to wait until day light tomorrow for that. This trucks looks much nicer now. I did a few more things here and there but I doubt any one will notice.

I just finished Bert and took the old fella out for a drive. The truck drives great amd goes through the gears like a new truck. I feel very foolish now telling people it has a prblem, but that does not matter now. I am going to try and enjoy the truck as much as I can before it gets a new home.
