So one of the donor trucks I got has a very fresh 6.2 in it. The body is scrap, so the motor is coming out. Any tips on storing the motor for a few years as a spare? I don't have a vat of cosmoline large enough (kidding).

On boat engines I have used the engine foggers. They should work for a diesel.

Engine can maybe? Load it up with dessicant and do some preventative stuff with the engine itself.

I always just put it on a cart with the oil still in it and occasionally did a full turn on it. I know old shopping cart frames work well if you don't happen to have an engine stand. I call it exercising the engine every 30 days and spraying some 30 w into the intake. Worked for me and I stored a couple for 10 years with out issues. I currently have 2 with nothing in them standing on the rear of the motor on blocks and turn them over with the 15/16' socket and ratchet they have been that way for the last 3 years. I can hear them release then suck in compression when I turn them. Just an idea. Keep them dry. I don't know about plastic that may trap moisture. I have a new 350 crate motor on the stand and it is locked up. It was on the stand the last 8 years. I don't know what to do about that but have not really tried much.
