Starter rebuild kits?

Hi all,
The starter bendix in my M1009 has finally given up the ghost. New starter is on the way, but I'd like to rebuild the old one and put it back in. Only the bendix is dead, the rest is in good enough shape to keep using.

Does anyone have a source for rebuild kits that aren't almost the same price as a new starter? The parts shops in this particular corner of nowhere either can't find me one at a reasonable price, or can't assure me it will work in the 24V starter. Are there any differences in the internals between the 12V and 24V versions, other than the solenoid (and the core, presumably)?

I just had to rebuild the starter on my M1009 as it was shot also. Apparently its just the solenoid thats 24 V. Walked up to the counter at the local auto parts store, rebuild kit is a common item, cost me 40 bucks. Came with bendix, brushes and bearings.I'm sure you could just buy the bendix alone.Simply give em civi info; 86 chev blazer 6.2 diesel. Good luck
