Steering wheel chain

I’ve seen a handful of CUCVs (including mine) that have a chain welded to one of the seat bolts so the steering wheel can be locked.

is this simply just a hillbilly security system that one of the many owners did over the years?

Or was this done to some trucks while they were in service?

Either way mine is going bye-bye

Standard Military Issue.
With a standard issue padlock.

If you haven't changed your column lock and key yet, hang onto that chain.
