Yep. 15W-40 is what military used in it.

Allison recommends ATF. There are several different fluids they allow in it. 15W-40 is not at the top of that list from what I researched. To switch it over it needs the 15W-40 drained, filters changed, filled, ran for about 30 minutes then repeat to flush out all oil. As the mixture of the 2 aren't recommended.

Is the standard ATF oils for replacement if you do this either DexronIII or TransSyn if you want to go synthetic?
