TATRAPAN – armoured terrain vehicle is designed for protection of crew and inside outfit in both the crew compartment and superstructure against 7.62 mm armour-piercing shells and chips. The special construction of bottom provides enhanced anti-mine resistance.
The vehicle is build for extreme climatic conditions up to 55 °C of ambient temperature and it features with excellent manoeuvrability in terrain based on permanent all-wheel drive, 1 central differential and 3 differentials with interlock, spring independent swinging half-axles, central tube frame with carrying pipe with excellent torsion rigidity, the central tyre inflation.

The cab is armoured with two seats, equipped with shutter with possibility to fit the turret with 7.62 machine gun-carriage, covered with protection and thermal-insulation materials. It is fitted with up-to-date day and night vision devices, communication systems, heating and filtration and ventilation system. The cab can be hydraulically tipped with mechanic locking.
The vehicle is designed for carrying the superstructures of various purpose. The quick-clamping devices with center bolts provide the fixing of superstructure, which enables the using of various superstructures on one chassis. The time needed for replacement of superstructures is up to 60 minutes.
The superstructures destined for transport of persons are equipped with efficient air conditioning. The large capacity of inside space enables the assembly of special radar, fire control system, sanitary equipment and other systems below the armoured protection. Vehicles can be applied abroad for piece missions of NATO and U.N.O. They belong to the codified armament of NATO.
