Towing and off road recovery

Well lately i have been more towing of friends jeeps than my own. I picked up a sweet trailer for it, and the day i bought it had to tow my beater jeep home, it broke down on the way home from getting an inspection.

then my friends JK got stuck, and nobody but the deuce could pull him out. 2 days later, he hydrolocked and i had to pull him out of the hole and then onto the trailer to take it to my buddies shop. Had about 1/4" of water atop each piston, bent all the rods and seized the motor.

then recently i had to take my nice jeep to my friends shop for an axle swap.

I tried to put some more pics up but it wouldn't load. I've also towed another cherokee, and a friends chevy 1500 pickup with a blown tranny.

This thing can't even feel the load, and it is s much easier backing up than with a m105 trailer. I can see this one!

It's so much fun to tow stuff, and use this as an off road recovery rig. It just sucks crossing my fingers everytime i drive without weighted tags. But that will change soon as i finish my "rv" conversion, since rv's don't have limits on towing and don't require weighted tags

that's what the military did, came straight from gov liquidation like that. It's nice because it has plenty of headroom to walk around in. It's got lights hung from the roof(plywood roof above the bows) as well as the back facing lights, door, and electrical outlets on the inside to be run from a generator. Troop seats on it look brand new. It had brackets welded to the floor, probably for some tables and stuff. I cut them all out, have a couch, and drop the troop seats down for when friends ride. It's nice to roll the sides up to the middle layer in the summer, nice air flow and good place to sleep while camping. The dang rear door and whole frame is welded to the floor. Eventually i will cut it out, and replace the bed with a dropside bed.

How's the stopping power on your truck. I never have towed with a duece. I would be sweet to be able to pull a trailer with a t-190 Bobcat (10,000lbs). I am affriad the trailer would push the truck around.

I like the military style of hitches. All the trailers and equipment at my company are that way.

Praying to the EUC gods still

Heck yea, deuces are fun tow rigs, if only they had power steering stock! I have pulled a couple 5tons with Apoc ( yea most the time I hooked up the air lines ). Also it towed my equipment trailer with dodge and all my worldly possesions home when I retired from the Army. Eglin AFB to Memphis TN. It was a long drive but the deuce did fine. Keep up the ggod work it nice to be able to help folks out using MVs!

I tow my landcruiser all the time. 8k lbs for truck + trailer. No trailer brakes. Never had an issue. Many 300+ mile trips, slow on hills, but other then that no issues. Been towing my cruiser with an M107 in the bed of my truck, the extra weight in the bed appears to have helped in braking as there is hardly any weight over the tandems anyhow.
