One friend of mine has done this, he loves it,his truck will go anywhere, very hilly where we live, and he has no problems.

I have not put one in a front axle but I did replace the gov-loc in the rear of my K5 Jimmy and loved it. Very smooth operation. No special oil or additives needed. I would use one in the front with no reservation.
