Ive got a 1987 m923a1. The water temp gauge went up in smoke! And now I have a dead short and the battery's drain...fast. What's the best way to replace the gauge? I took the dash plate loose but it wont pull out far enough to get to it. Any tips and or instruction would be greatly appreciated!

I have always had to break the air lines and pull cables. Do the battery switch and start switch first. Just whatever keeps you from gaining access to the back of the panel.
