There is no fishing out the broken piece. You are looking at a complete disassembly. Numerous threads here on doing that.

Did someone try to engage the clutch by forcing the clutch lever with a pipe ? This has happened before when the untrained operating with unauthorized tools try to engage the clutch without moving the captstan a little bit to align the dogs in the clutch so they engage. This is not a friction clutch here.
