So you are saying that they made a M1123 in 2008 and 09? I don’t think that’s right.

No you do not! Pick any year you want. Mine is a 2002 M1123 and my serial number is 201xxx you are probably closer to 2003/04. I just went thru the same thing with my M1165 and I chose 2002. If I made a error it was going to be older rather than newer. Just my 2cents

Well, I am juss' plain 'old' and logical..So, When I see a dashboard data plate on a vehicle 'silly me thinks that plate with serial date 08 / 09 is the date 2008 2009.
sorry about that.
..Sometimes though...Windows have dates etched on..Any help?.

Perhaps this helps you out?

AM General was awarded an initial contract in 1983 for 2,334 vehicles, the first batch of a five-year contract that would see 55,000 vehicles delivered to the U.S. military, including 39,000 vehicles for the Army; 72,000 vehicles had been delivered to the U.S. and foreign customers by the Persian Gulf War of 1991, and 100,000 had been delivered by the Humvee's 10th anniversary in 1995.[4] Ft. Lewis, Washington, and the 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division was the testing unit to employ HMMWV in the new concept of a motorized division. Yakima Training Center in Yakima, Washington, was the main testing grounds for HMMWVs from 1985 through December 1991, when the motorized concept was abandoned and the division inactivated.

Kinda a big gap from 1995 til present.
My 2002 M1123 has its original data plate and it has a serial number of 201xxx so I have a pretty good idea of what year range should be. it doesn’t really matter because they ask you what year you want it to be and that’s what I did on the one I bought on 1/26/22
Matter of fact I chose that truck because it didn’t have a year. Good info you found.

IROAN = Inspect and Repair Only As Necessary, with a date of August 2009, when they installed the Marine Armor Kit components.
Nothing to do with original manufacture date.

I'll agree with the others here, going by the serial number it's very likely to be originally manufactured between 2002-2005. Were it mine, I'd pick the earliest possible date on it, because of dealing with insurance and licensing.

I already said what month and year it really is...here it is again : Feb., or March 2005
There was some blank AM general data plates available in the past.
