It's a map compartment, not a glove box.

Its not about being used to the engine, its about the noise and loosing your hearing. Trust me, wear protection. I have lost a lot of my hearing from driving around in a stright pipped truck. Should have worn protection.

The great thing about not wearing hearing protection is if you don't wear it eventually you won't have to due to hearing loss. In all seriousness I've been around things that go bang and boom for 15 years and always wear hearing protection in training (not feasible in real life) and still have sustained damage to my hearing. If you don't believe me just ask my wife. :D

I like the radio setup. I was thinking about putting a couple speaker boxes behind the seats for some tunes when I'm trail riding or camping. I assume you have dual alternators and use the 12V to power it all.

You need to listen to everyone. Wear hearing protection when driving the deuce, even for short distances and for low speeds. You don't realize it, but you are injuring yourself. I put my earplugs in before I start the engine.

Young and foolish now, wise and deaf later...

You'll also learn that using one battery may bite you in the butt, later too.

There is tons of real life experience shared on this site. If you don't learn from it, you'll learn it later on in life, in some cases, when it's too late(and you'll regret it forever).

When I was 17, I knew everything too...

Wear hearing protection!

It may seem like a huge annoyance but, in 20 years when you can't hear your kids because you have lost that frequency range in your hearing. You will wish you had done it.
