37's on 8 bolt wheels

Anyone else running 37's on the old style 8 bolt hummer wheels? I only plan on using this one for a full size spare for my 1008 but then I got to thinkin about puttin a set on my 101A1 to match my truck.I have a few extra 37's but the only wheels I have available are the old style.I ditched the old alloy runflat, just wondering about this combination because when we switched over from the 36's to the 37's when I was in the Army I was told you have to run the new 12 bolt wheels, didn't make sense to me then and still don't.Any opinions or experience appreciated,

We've covered this well, previously.

The 8 bolt wheels cannot take the air pressure that the newer 37" radials can take.

Your at risk of a rim failure and or tire explosion/dismount.

Now, if you keep your tire pressure at or below the bias rating, you might be ok.

Personally, I would not do it.

Try some searching if you want more info.

btw, you can kill yourself, just inflating that tire to max pressure on that rim.

I have the 37"s and 8 bolts on my Scout for 3 years. The rim profile is the same.

Same here, but 35# in the rear. Tires are wearing evenly.

The biggest problem is, anyone else may look at the tire and inflate it to it's max pressure rating, killing them.

Thanks for the info, looks like I should be good to go as long as I don't inflate them to insane amounts of pressure.

You might as well if you're only using the one as a spare... Just don't drive on it too much or too fast. Make sure the bolts are all tightened properly. Maybe paint "35PSI MAX" near the valve stem or in a few other places to make sure no one else tries to "help" you and inflate them to 60 psi.
