A few pictures of whats to come. My 5'3'' wife can stand under it with out bumping her head.

First one is trailer with 11-20 on it still
Second one is trailer with 16-20 on it next to the wifes xm889 (86 ramchager)
Third one is trailer with 16-20 on it with the wife next to it
Fourth one is trailer with 16-20

I need to change all six dog bones over to five ton dog bones because they are 1.5 inches longer, but I have an 1.5 inches of spring sticking out pas the axles already then the 16-20 will fir perfect.

The m129a2c dog bones will end up being sold off to off set the cost of replacing or upgrading to the 5t dog bones.

I'm resonably sure that the dog bones are the same as a 5 ton already... my M967 tanker has the same boogie set up as that trailer and it has 5 ton dogbones...

Just saying... I'd check first.

Nice looking trailer! just HEAVY!

I have measured and they are shorter by 1.5 inches on my trailer. I'll take pictures and post them up. My trailer was over hauled at one point in time in the late 80's to early 90's because they put foiled backed yellow foam board in the walls and ceiling, and there's no delivery date or inspection date on the data plate for the box or the trailer frame. My springs hang out past the axle too. Any one else with a m127, m128 or m129 trailer have this problem with there trailer?

You know your camper is big when you have walk over into the next ZIP code to take the pic.

What are your plans for the camper?

Do you have a floor plan?
Yes, It's just a rough sketch so far but its looking to be a more of a very basic R.V. / mkt, then a fancy trailer like rayzer's m146. More military basic and more kid and dog friendly.

Or get a satellite picture to capture the whole thing in one frame!!! LOL:shock:

Heck I already have to use a fork lift as my a lifting platform for loading and unloading it. I have a good Idea of where to store the longer new steps for the trailer.

There are 2 or 3 diferent axle set ups for the M126/127/128/129 trailer. You could have a GI parts swap repair where they used some of these parts and some of those parts. I have a M127A2 and a M129A2C and they have diferent axles and brakes and dog bones. On one the mounts are welded to the axles the other they clamp to the axles.
Added pic's frist two are a M127A2 (not sure date plate says A2 but TM says these are A1 axles) last 2 are of my M129A2C.

Well we have hit a major snag!!!!! The side skins of the trailer are swiss cheese BAD.

The question is the skeletal of the trailer is solid as a rock but skins are scrap. they have one and in some places two patches over the old skin. So do we re-skin the trailer at about a $1000 to re skin it.

Any other Ideas for re-skinning it? I have had thoughts of cutting to top off and using it as a gondola trailer.

That's all alright, I'm having a week like that my self. Hay if your buddy wants that six breaker panel and the main disconnect, I'll trade you that all for the two windows we talked about, my ham guys don't want it because that's not what was originally in there com box.

Also been rethinking the skin issue, been thinking of using fiberglass sheet to re sin the trailer. Its a lot cheaper and I can get it in one long sheet for each side.
