SS member wiggall served on that ship from '69-'73. It was supposed to be there over a year ago but I guess politics happened.

Awesome about SS member Wiggall! I hope i can meet him sometime and shoot the bull with him about his service. Although I'm not part of the 'group' /entity that has ochestrated this whole thing (during the last several years i think) I know a couple of the guys casually and have tried to keep abreast of how things are proceeding.

You are Very True Mr. 319 , politics, but mostly (can you guess what kind) of 'entities' have slowed things down/brought them to a complete halt a couple times? It was supposed to be there at dock LAST summer.

PS; why didn't you respond to my e mail on the coins? it took me a while to craft that submissive document.......................................

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION POST # x

Only just over a week to go;

With the awesome response we have received from regional businesses, there will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Prizes awarded in both the 'Military Motorcycle' and regular historic 'Military Vehicle' catagories.

In addition, we are working on a couple 'surprises' in the way of entertainment a a couple other things that will make the event even more fun and memorable. Still don't have any idea how many planes will actually fly into the event- but the aviation information has been distributed for several weeks and we are prepared for them!

Due to circumstances beyond my control in the "family emergency" category I will only be coming Friday mid day to Saturday mid day. On another note and maybe this has been covered in a earlier post and I missed it but will there be onsite vendors of the food nature? My wife asked because she does not feel like packing a bunch of grub to feed my fat butt!

Yeah, me. I'm selling assorted MREs, with a cloth dinner napkin, for $20 each or two for $45.

If not interested in those delicacies, Burger King is a mile away.

Aigooya! For that price can I at least heat them with the torches in your fancy 31 thousand pound trailer? I was just wondering if there was any on site food since there will be no pets allowed the pickins will be slim. Don't want to leave the site if I don't have to. Gotta watch them scrounger hobbits!

No pig roast-dense me doesn't know if that was a joke or not......................

VMPNEM WILL be having hot dogs, chips, pop, etc on Friday and Saturday afternoons with a golf cart cruising around the show grounds as another way of getting them to anyone that has the munchies.

The State of Michigan Council of the Vietnam Veterans of America will be having 4-5 of the 'inside/locked down at night' tables with all thier assorted products for sale and I'm assuming some display type items also.

In addition, a gentleman from the VFW in Ann Arbor will be bringing up his awesome display of Military Memoribilia for display (a lot of uniforms on maniquins, but all kinds of other things) he's not selling anything-just displaying.

Possibly the most amazing display you can imagine deployed out of a single M105 trailer. Not only is the display excellent but an education about the use of everything they have is free for the asking.

I don't know how many Military Motorcycles will be on display, but the ones that have said they will be there, are some of the rarest and coolest to be gathered in a show! There could be another awesome motorcycle there, but I haven't convinced him to break it out of his living room and off his island.

I had the pleasure to check out an absolutely amazing NATO/Danish PowerWagon today, that Ken K. said he would be bringing.

You can do it Mr. B!

We will have some entertainment (unique and easy listening type) on Friday starting around 2, and putting something together along the same lines for Saturday. In addition to Patriotic type music just playing in the background when groups aren't performing.

Plus, a couple surprise visitors- would have to kill you if i told you, so let it be...................................................

That is all- George Patton

If all goes well, I will be pulling into the Oscoda area Friday afternoon, with the rig in my avatar. I have no choice but to bring my dog, he's a 160 lb English Mastiff so it's not very easy finding a dog sitter, even if he would allow that:oops:. Besides, he loves riding in the 5 ton:).
So I will be stopping in Lumbermens Monument to see if there are any open sites at Sawmill point, or other rustic areas. My folks have a place in Tawas City, so maybe I can get them to watch the dog, so we can drive the truck to the show. Hope to see everybody Saturday.
Regardless, me my son and the dog plan on camping on the Ausable river for a few days[thumbzup].
