WC64 from PI

Hi,

I just want to share that in my attempt to restore my WC, I bought a donor vehicle to cannibalize from. Turns out, this new unit is a WC64 (wheelbase 121 inches)! Now my project has turned upside down and I will be restoring this unit instead of the WC 52 (or so I thought).

I also discovered that the first WC may also be an ambulance model (114 wheelbase)! Can someone help me source these shocks and help me identify this rear light? Thanks

Sam, you might try over on the WW2dodge.com site. There is a WC-64 expert there from Eindhoven, Holland. There is also a site wc64.com (I believe) that can help you. That light is not WW 2. Not sure what it is. Can you post more pics of that shock mounts from different angles and the reinforcement gussets on the frame? Good luck and keep us posted.

Do you have any idea what that alum plate with number 4250-890 mean? Its attached above the firewall and is covered when the hood is down.

That is the body tag and indicates what the body design was from the factory. In your case it means:
42-the year mfg was 1942
50-there is no showing for this number (possibly the WC-64 KD Ambulance)
890-the 890th body of this type built

Look closer at that tag to make sure it is a '50'. I am getting my info from ww2dodge.com under documentation and click on body tag. It gives all the numbers. Let me know if I can help in any other way.

Just went back and checked. The 50 is the designation for the WC-64KD so you have a 1942 3/4 ton WC-64KD number 890 out of 3500. This is a little peculiar as the WC-64s were all "supposedly" made in late 1944 and early 1945.
