My experience with GovPlanet.com recovery
I was lucky enough to win the bidding for a 2007 PU-798A (MEP-803a on a M1102 Genset trailer) in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. I also am about 80 miles away. I prepared for the recovery. Being prepared really is important here due to being away from home and having a limited pickup window. I used a Dodge Ram 2500 with a Tractor Supply pintle hitch receiver. The height of the hitch sits at 21 inches. I already had wired trailer lights set. Bring your zip ties. Why? Magnets don’t work on aluminum. :D Prepped everything, and then checked out. The Chambersburg, Pennsylvania location is at the Letterkenny Army Depot. Or, I should say adjacent. Go right to the address listed, (blue building with address on top corner of the building). Enter, go in the office and sign in, get pass, show your release, they get a hold of Jay (GovPlanet liaison) They bring out your item. I am not sure about other bases where items are located. But, in this lot, it was very easy and quick.
Driving.
I have watched the forum talk about all kinds of trailering information. I have my receipt of this item, it is securely connected to my truck. It has proper working brake lights and blinkers, and I am driving home. The unit trailers behind the truck like its not there. I stopped 6 miles down the road to double check everything again when I got to the major highway (Interstate 81). Things are good and I get on the highway cruising along at 70 the whole way home. I go thru 3 states, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. Made it home without issue.

Props to Jay and staff at Letterkenny GovPlanet section.

I will post in the generator section about my unit.

Thanks :p

Did you have tags for the Trailer? I can't seem to find a straight answer if they are required in PA to transport this type of trailer (MEP-804A on an M200A1) home. I'm about 40 miles from Letterkenny.
Just don't want to run afoul of the law.

Howdy,
After reading through post, DMV websites, and other highway trailering laws... A generator on a trailer comes under special classification. Also military items purchased, and you have the supporting documentation showing said purchase, allows the transportation of said item home. If you look over the PA dmv website, it talks about military equipment.

Items to think about.
tire air pressure, bearings (greased, or waterloaded), axle temps while driving, brakes functioning, parking brakes fully disengaged, lighting, plug etc..., trailering vehicle, checking it all carefully, and checking again.
