This years show was the best yet!

The rain didn't keep people away at all. We were busy selling both days and got to see a lot of old friends and made some new ones

It was nice to see how many people are just getting into the hobby, and the show seems to be growing every year

Thanks to the MTA

Once again, great show! 1st anual movie night went great. That movie gets more intense every time I see it. Surrounded by real military vehicles made the movie that much better!

Was it the LEGO War Movie; what was the flick?!

The armchair warriors are dying to know all the event details.
Man, and not a single popcorn emoji anywhere in sight. fat lady sings:shrugs:

Saving Private Ryan. A little too intense for some and I opted out with John Tennis and went off to sit around the fire pit on a cold night.

I've now gotten 8 hours sleep since the show. I just want to say this was an exceptional show. Randy and the MTA folks have a super high quality show and may it grow bigger every year. As I pointed out to Randy, we often forget the little guys that make our lives better in such events. The folks that maintained the bathrooms did a tremendous job especially considering the number of people at the show and the fact they were open 24 hours a day.

The people picking up trash and moving the purchased items form point a to point b were also excellent.

The layout of the vendors, displays, parking, and forklift/transport support makes this show one of the best.

I've been to a lot of shows. Each show has its' different advantages and it's hard to compare shows. It is very similar to Gilbert, Findlay and the Tower Park show. Tower Park is a lot more spread out in a campground (that's not to sound like a negative). Findlay has more reenactment action. Gilbert has a lot of vehicle rides. If I were to make a list of the top five shows to go to this one would make the list. In no specific order they are NJ Show, Gilbert, GA Rally, Tower Park, Findlay. Granted, I haven't been to all the shows but this is how I would look at it.

I hear you. I always try to drop a tip on the bathroom cleaners in the airports if I see them whenever i'm traveling by air. It's an important job, but it has to be one of the most thankless in the world.

And when I say tip I don't mean telling the bud, "Hey, don't smoke in bed!". :jumpin:

Yesterday I noticed an M931 with a box trailer of some variation, parked locally, with Ontario Canada plates on it.

I'm guessing they were returning from the show.

Wish I had made it.

Ah yes, that was probably the couple that was at the show. They drove quite a ways. They had converted that trailer into a camper, complete with a bed, kitchen, and even a shower inside. Very well done rig. Funny you seeing them. I guess you don't see a rig like that going down the everyday though.

You can see cars with Canada plates all over the place in Florida every winter.

It's been a while since I visited FL, but I imagine that still holds true.

I couldn't tell you why, but apparently there are plenty of Canadians who don't mind long drives.

Well, I had a great time. I'll disagree and say the turnout was bit lighter due to crappy weather but I still managed to sell a few thing and blow 800$...:)
i love this show and will continue to go for many years. It is probably the most organized event I go to and the people are wicked nice. I'm surprised no pics of the wedding in the back of the 5 ton. It was just a great time and I brought a new member of the hobby with me .
thanks to Randy and everyone else for a great time and a great show and as soon as I can sign up for next year, I will.

The MTA would like to thank the Steel Soldier family very very much !!!!

I would like to add, The movie night was spectacular , BUT ... YES.. We will pick an hour movie with a much more patriotic like
the good old ones !!! Saving private ryan was way to heavy on a 12 ft screen with huge speakers making us think we were there,

Was thinking some flash grenades would be nice behind the screen next year during the action may be fun ..:burn:
Just winding down now, Whew.... The show was very well attended, I have noticed when we are at 80 to 90 vehicles its a better more mixed vehicle collection, the year we hit over 160 we had so many M 939 series 5 tons the ground was 3 inchs lower after that weekend LOL... We really had some excellent Mercedes Jeeps I guess I will call them, But im sure they don't LOL ....

Thank You !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [thumbzup]
