Hi all.
I’ve been reading and reading, searching about tire wheel combo’ for several months now.
Anyone running MRAP wheels with the 7” offset?
How do they line up in the front? Do they track correctly?
I want to run 395’s all around.
Which wheels would be best for this? Mrap, 5 ton, Hemtt?
Anyone have adapter plates to convert to 6 lug?
Looking for all hardware, o-rings, bolts, valve stems..
Any and all help appreciated.
Thank you

There are at least 3 wheels out there that don't even require adapter plates. 2 are hard to find and all tend to be pricey. Do you have a budget? If money is no object, you could even get wheels custom drilled.

Military trucks are pretty over engineered and unless you plan on taking it up to Autobahn speeds I don't think you really have to worry about what's best - any issues can be overcome as everyone's already fitted every configuration out there already. The biggest issue you'll run into will likely be if the steering clears on the front wheels. When I had 395's, I overcame this issue by using 50-50 offset wheels, no rubbing with those.

Budget-wise, I’d like to spend 3k or less!!! LOL.
A3’s are hard to find.
found 7 mrap wheels with new 395’s for 1800 on marketplace , but no response ..
Idmack3— your truck is beautiful!
I’ve had it for 28 years now. Barn kept. But now I am wanting to drive it more.
Anyone running 10 bolt 24.5” rims? I can get them really cheap (free) and they are aluminum.
Really want to single it out.
Thanks everyone!!!!!

Currently running 900 x 20’s. They are in bad shape.
Okay. Are you just wanting a better tire over all or something better for speed? Have you got any quotes on the 11x20's or anything?
395's are pretty expensive either way and while deals can be found periodically, the rims (and adapters if applicable) are either hit or miss. I have the same as 98G and while I do like the set up, finding a spare is not easy unless I wanna pay a lot for shipping because while I can find the tire itself locally, the rim and adapter I cannot and shipping is just as much if not more than the part itself. I actually wouldn't mind going back to normal stock rims with 11x20's just for the sake of finding tires and rims easier, but also it's not so darn heavy to move on my own like my current 395's are. I'd rather move a 180-300 lb tire before I move a 450-500 lb tire, especially by myself. The big tires have to have a crane of some sort in order to get in and out of the bed since they are too big to fit in the spare tire carrier. That's some things that's been on my mind lately.

If you're set on 395 tires, I'd definitely hit up the parts wanted and some of the vendors here to see if anyone has used tires they will sell, sometimes in great shape pretty cheap compared to others but most likely you have to arrange the shipping or pick up. Every online source by Google I found decent tires 50-70% tread for around $130 or so, but the shipping was just as much as the tire! No rim either. Either way, I'll keep an eye out as I'm also a member on tons of military vehicle FB pages and such so if I see anything I can share it to you on here or through pm.

Thanks ToddJK! I’ve been looking at this site and others. Yes, they are heavy and I’m no spring chicken anymore. I do have my mind set on 395’s. I’m ok with pickup, so-so with how expensive shipping is right now. I’ve just gotten back on face book…. I’ll search there. Appreciate the help!

Including tires? Well, stay away from the Eastern Surplus wheels, they're pricey. You might check out militarytires.ca I've never bought from this place, but they look to have a good selection including rims.

Keep in mind, there are 2 different types of 10 hole wheels out there, and the adapter plates are made for the MRAP's which is the more rare kind of 10 hole. If you already know this, nm.

Speaking of aluminum wheels...

I’ve been looking at militarytires.ca. They seem to have a decent selection. I think they’re are 10 x 11.25 and 10 x 335 mm mrap wheels. If a am correct. Yeah, Eastern is kinda high at 700 / rim. Boyce is kinda high too.
Still looking though.

Currently I'm running Michelin 11R-20's singled out on the 8.5" bead lock rims. Honestly, they do really well. I was able to climb my long steep icy road quite well. The skinny wheels just look a little lackluster. I bought chains for all six too, expecting to need them, but they stayed in the bags. The tires still have a lot of tread on them, but the sidewalls are showing some fine cracking. I need to get them on the dirt and wear em out real quick this summer if I can.

I have a full set of A3 bead lock rims now though, and am looking to put as good of tires as I can on them. Such a hard decision between 365/80R20 and the 395's. My truck is turned up, but I try to not drive it like it is. I'd really like to be able to hit 60 and stay at a safe rpm, but not at the cost of pushing the engine too hard. I just got a set of new heads on there.

Plus, if I go with 365's, all my other wheels will be the same diameter. I'd be able to use the same spares...

if anyone were interested in a set of 7 or 8 11R20's on 8.5 beadlocks (with chains too), I'd be willing to sell or trade them to offset the cost of new tires to go on my A3 rims. If you're near enough to post falls Idaho that is.

Should I stick with 43 inch tires, or are the 395's worth it? btw, I have power steering, but not where it can rub in the fender well. No worry there.

Sometimes I think about the 12R20's. Those would be the best for the 8.5 beadlocks.
