AN PTFE

I am wanting to convert all my fuel lines to PTFE. It's rated for 3000PSI. I am trying to figure what diameter line and what size fitting would be best. I was thinking AN-6 ? Also any quick reference of NPT fitting sizes I will need such as tank to primary, primary to secondary and so on??

The numbers for the Army/Navy fittings are in 16ths. So, a -6 would be 6/16 or 3/8.

Where are you wanting to replace the steel tubing or rather why? I am all for AN PTFE for fuel hose. However, if there is a pipe that doesn’t leak, why change it is my thinking.

I typed the above and then saw your location. Do you have the metal pipe rusting out? That would be a good idea switching over to PTFE. -6 will provide plenty of fuel. There is 1 soft hose connecting parts of the IP to themselves that is very, very hard to get to and another from the frame to the IP that is a little easier to get to. I am pretty sure you can get fittings to directly screw into all of the needed connections for the truck.

If not, here is a video I made about swapping all of the soft hoses out for PTFE -6 AN on one of my CUCV type trucks:

I used crimp adapters to attach to the steel pipe. The description of the video has links to different PTFE AN kits and parts that I used.

It's time to replace hoses they are deterrated and have a few pin holes. plus sense I work at a automotive shop we get everything whole sale prices.

Pin holes, plus rusted from a prior owner beating it up as a mega mud truck. I also am planning on swapping motors soon so it would be easier.

Any idea if the original fittings on the truck are SAE 45 degree or JIC 37?

Apparently someone has done this but the list of instructions and parts is hard for me to understand.

That is confusing. I would just run -6 everywhere.
