So when I bought my HMMWV - i opted for the SF97 and Title to be provided by Govplanet - I was told they would provide me with a clear title (no restrictions) but when I called again they said it will either have a Montana or a FL title - I assume the FL title will be restricted - anyone have any experience getting the title's from Govplanet ?

If the item you won was supposed to come with a clear title, it will. I have received FL titles from them previously...no problems. I never opt for the SF97. I have found the people at the DMV sometimes are not as clear on what it is and how to deal with it (although I also have used them with no problems). So, I pay extra for the title. What makes you think the FL title will be restricted?

What state do you live in ? I’m in Louisiana. Myself with help of two others had to fight our state omv to be able to street title humvees in our state . They were titling them then decided to revoke . Anyway my state takes the sf-97 forms and turns them into title . Everyone I know who bought humvees from gov planet to title in La just used sf-97. We proved that the red ink stamp on top stating offered only was applied by a person pre sale if the vehicles to discipline to resell . And that each individual state approves what they allow for street use . I have the recording from the man who is in military who did the contract to gov planet stating this was between the gov and gov planet (off road only ink stamp) this would be same as a used car dealer stamping this on top a title . Anyway Every state is different . Some states you cannot even title them for road use .

Because FL has restrictions on HMMWV's.

99.9% of titles I’ve received from GP are Montana, the other .1 were from Utah….
Were they clear titles ? Or did they have a restriction on it ? Also, was it a Title transfer or a Title in your name ? Just wanted to know what to expect because it wasn't very clear after talking to GovPlanet.

sounds good . But have you mentioned to them about the short vin numbers ? This screws up most states computer systems . As I mentioned above the off road restriction is just a red ink stamp that someone put on there at government level to gov planet . It’s in their contract per the gov lawyers basically is what we got out of them. He stated that the fed government don’t have say so on what each state allows for road use . The states make their own rules and laws. My state omv tried telling us our state would loose federal funding if we allowed them on road use . Which was a total lie . No facts . My senator was the one who got involved and pushed a bill thru to stop our omv from just making up lies to not road title them . Other states have tried to copy and push thru our bill we did but most of them are northern states and they keep getting shot down . Think it was Michigan who got all the votes and passed but the governor his last day in office got rid of it . So the will of the people don’t mean anything I guess. . Sorry for the rant . Just hearing people still having titling issue bothers me . We can title them in Louisiana if need be .

Yes I did - they said they would need to manually enter in the Manufacture and Model as well as GVWR and Fuel Type - but it shouldn't be a problem.
