I did my best to find this part before posting so I apologize if it is a redundant question.
The vehicle is a 1952 M135 with the GMC inline 6, it has the canister style oil filter, it’s about 8 inches tall and 4 inches diameter. There is a spring on top, the diameter of the hole in the middle is about half of an inch and it’s got a little wire that acts as a handle to lift the filter out of the canister.
The Oil filter that is in it says Purolator P 50, I’m hoping somebody has an easier to find part number for this filter, maybe for a Napa?
I found the Purolator P 50 online, but on average it cost between 70 and $250 to get delivered to me it would be nice to just pick it up from the local Napa store.

Thank you, they were able to find a cross reference number for the Purolator P 50, it gets delivered tomorrow so we’ll see how that works out.

Also- try Napa 1503.
This was the filter Napa gave me, thanks for the heads up.
The oil fill, looks like what you would see for a radiator, that definitely threw me off.
my new problem is oil capacity, I have put in 6 L so far and not a drop has shown up on the dipstick.
My oil fill location is not on the valve cover it is what looks like a pot with a radiator cap lid with the hose about 2 inch diameter that goes down into the block.
The plug to remove the oil uses the head of a half inch ratchet.
I don’t want to keep adding oil to the machine until it reads on the dipstick but it seems like the only logical conclusion. I’ve read that the capacity for this 1952 GMC in-line six is 6.6 L.
Has anyone done an oil change on this motor, know the exact capacity, I tried searching in the forums but my questions don’t seem to hit any of the forums for an answer.
