M1010 to M1008 wiring

I bought a M1010 that someone got in over their heads with wiring. I’m not sure what the fire department did too. As you can see in the third photo, a third alternator was added. I came to the conclusion to remove everything and start over and turn it into a M1008. I know it’s not just changing wires. I have M1008 alternators, brackets, and pulleys. I figure, while I have it apart, I’m going to powder coat brackets and anything else. (It’s a hobby of mine). I started installing the M1008 harness and repairing it (it was cut up too). But I can’t find where a small group of wires go that is not in the harness. I’d only be guessing because I can’t find it in the TMs. The 14-12 ga blue wire went to a fuel (something) as seen in photo 3. I’d guess the orange goes to the downshift solenoid. If someone knows or can point it out in which TM and page, I’d greatly appreciate it. I just need to identify that group of wires.
Thanks.

I believe the thing in the top right is the fuel pump for the heater in the ambo box.

Jeez three alternators? How much power did they need...

If you are staying 24v I'd get a pair of Leece Neville's and run it. Get rid of the Duvac. If you ever want AC keep your M1010 engine brackets.

No idea where that harness goes to.

Good to know. I'll label it and secure the end. Looks like I'll be crawling under the truck today while the weather is still good, and trace some wires. One problem is that some of the wires have faded and can't tell the original color. Thanks for the info. Every little bit helps.

F-22 through F-26 are the M1010 specific wiring diagrams.
The wiring for the heater controls to the heating unit are not color labeled in the diagram. You should be able to follow the harnesses from one end to the other on the vehicle to determine what went where.

Good luck and keep updating the thread. I am curious how it goes.

The wires in img_1218 go to the glow plug relay, glow plug temp sensor at the rear of the drivers side cylinder head. Inside the vehicle it joins the main harness and goes to the glowplug controller card. The single green wire that breaks out, does it go to the device on the drivers side fender? If so that is the power wire for the personnel heater fuel pump.
