Picked up a southwind 30k btu unit at Iola last weekend (pretty darn cheap too).

It came w/ this weird mount. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the mount was for. I'm thinking maybe a van box or something. It has a slide door on one side, and a swinging door on the other side.

I had a control unit I bought off of Ebay. It's not the correct one, but I'm wondering if I can make it work or not. Maybe someone can chime in.

I'm hoping to get this setup in my 5-ton before winter.

98hd, about your controller, it's for the older gasoline fired units. You are better off locating the correct box with indicator light and connector (in the rear).

There is some demand for the 978 control box, so hang on to it.

Thanks, I figured it was for the older models. I guess I should have picked up one of those at IOLA too, could have sold them together.

From the schematic it looks like it could be made to work though. I guess I will keep grying to find the correct box, and work on the getting the rest of the parts in place first.
