Hey guys. I was thinking of trading a guy for a deuce. Here are some details. I dont know alot about these so anything i should or should not look for will be greatly appreciated. I have recieved a few pics of it and there are a couple small rust spots that dont really concern me but im wondering about the white engine? Not really sure whats up with that. Dont match anything ive read.

I have always thought these were cool truck and I love rebuilding trucks. Currently rebuilding a 1972 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4. 8" lift 1-ton axles the works.

1972 AM General 2 1/2 ton military truck, Has a hard top and heater, was in service in 2006, has a 1985 White 6 cyl multifuel turbo diesel engine, black, 6x6, front axle is air engaged, hi/low range transfer case, everything works

Thanks for everything.
Terry J.

Brighton on Tipton or Lincoln County? I am in Lebanon, just east of Nashville.

There were three manufacturers of the multifuel engine, Continental, White, and Hercules. All were made to exacting military specs so that all parts would interchange.

Look for leaks in the tranny, engine, axles, transfer case, and brakes.

Brighton in Tipton Co. I was planning on posting some pics as soon as he emails me more. all i got is phone pics right now. Supposedly brakes work gret and engine starts first time. Thanks for the info on the engine glad to know that. I asked him about it supposedly it was a replacement. its showing 50k on the odometer. any issues with that many miles on these?

The multifuels were all upgraded in the mid 80's and most were rebuilt at that time. The mileage on the odometer and the hour meter are for all practical purposes, worthless for determining wear and condition.

I kinda figured as much since the mileage is pretty much the same way with the trucks ive built.

What should I be looking for as far as air on these things? I know the front diff is ran by air and Im assuming the brakes do to so is there something i should be looking for to make sure its all ok? I appreciate all the help.
