Wellman 070 GP's with a Manual Bypass Setup???

I am going to replace my glow plugs this weekend, at least one is shot. I also think the GP controller card is toast. When I turn on the ignition key I do not hear the relay "clicking on and off". So today, as a test, I found a toggle that I had and temporary wired it up to the relay and a good ground. Well, now I hear the relay clicking on and off when I engage and disengage the toggle.

I think this proves the controller card is junk, is this correct?

If so, I want to convert to a manual momentary switch system . Can you install the Wellman 070 GP's when you bypass the controller card and use the manual setup?

Thanks guys!

I have a manual system for the glow plugs on 2 of my 3 CUCV's

It works great I just hold the button for a count of 5 or there abouts and then turn the key.

Will post pics of my setup tomorrow providing its not raining or snowing.
